Tom’s True Story is Tom and Israel Waldman. They are the voice, the music and the production.
Tom’s True Story’s debut album With Closed Eyes (1994) was received with surprise and with wonderful reviews. It was an Indie tribute to the early 70’s “Advanced Rock”; made by people who didn’t give a damn to fashion’s hype’s and audience demands.
Soon they found them selves surrounded with groupies that followed them to their performances around Israel’s rock clubs and music festivals (such as ARAD festival).
The tragic death of their drummer in a car crash, combined with the re-discovery of synthesizers and samplers, gave birth to The Ice Dream (1996) – A highly acclaimed neo-psychedelics novelty…
The album was a natural follow up to With Closed Eyes, in the sense that it was a concept album, but it was totally different and new, featuring again Tom’s “hypnotizing” voice, psychedelic and melodic nostalgia as well as the sounds of the nineties.
In 1998 Tom released the recordings of an unplugged album including new material as well as songs from their previous albums named No More Smiles…
At present they are working on their forth Hebrew album, as well as on English demos for some of their songs in order to try and “spread” Tom’s True Story worldwide.
